Precision-built for professionals

Designed around the installed-audio workflow.

Amp Multi was developed specifically for professional integration. It centralises high-output amplification, zone assignment, system monitoring and tuning so a multi-room Sonos system can be designed, commissioned and serviced more efficiently.

Multi-zone flexibility

Eight outputs. Up to four independent zones.

Each amplified output can be assigned to the zone it needs to serve. That gives the system designer flexibility to configure stereo or mono outputs while homeowners retain independent Sonos control of sources, content and volume by zone.

Setup made simple

Professional control without unnecessary complexity.

The Sonos app brings zone configuration, source management, output assignment and system status into one commissioning workflow.

Sonos app

Easy app control

Configure zones, sources and output assignments, then monitor system status from the familiar Sonos interface.

ProTune

Manually tune each output

Adjust each output independently to suit speaker placement and room acoustics instead of applying one compromise setting to the entire amplifier.

Seamless cues

Intuitive configuration

An audible identification cue helps locate the correct unit, while front and rear status LEDs make setup and troubleshooting easier.

ProTune

Fine control, available per channel.

ProTune provides a 10-band parametric EQ plus gain, delay and high-pass controls on a per-channel basis, giving the installer the tools to optimise low-impedance passive speakers for the room and their placement.

Optimize Sonos Speakers

Designed to work intelligently with Sonos Architectural.

When supported Sonos Architectural speakers are selected in the Sonos app, Amp Multi can recognise them and apply model-specific tuning and DSP for more consistent response and stable system performance.

Soundhous can therefore design the amplifier loading, speaker quantity and room application as one validated system.

Multiple Sonos Amp Multi amplifiers installed in a rack

Ready to rack

Built to make dense multi-zone systems cleaner.

The dedicated 2U rack-mount approach is designed to reduce wasted rack space, support airflow and keep cable management orderly as systems scale.

Built to breatheRack spacing supports airflow around each unit.
Streamlined installationThe flat-back chassis is designed to slide cleanly into the mounting system.
Space-saving designNo separate vent panels are required between Amp Multi units.

Responsible by design

Efficiency extends beyond the rack.

Sonos has also reduced material and energy impact through recycled plastics, low idle consumption and recyclable paper-based packaging.

Frequently asked questions

Planning with Amp Multi.

How many independent zones can one Amp Multi provide?

Up to four. Its eight amplified outputs can be assigned flexibly across those zones, so a zone can use one or more outputs depending on the speaker layout.

How many speakers can one Amp Multi power?

With supported Sonos Architectural speakers and Optimize Sonos Speakers enabled, Amp Multi supports loads down to 2.67Ω and up to three speakers per output — up to 24 speakers from one unit. Other speaker brands and loads must be engineered appropriately.

Should I use Amp Multi instead of Amp for a TV room?

Usually no. Amp has HDMI ARC and is the more natural choice when TV audio is part of the requirement. Amp Multi is designed primarily for centralised distributed-audio zones and does not include HDMI ARC.

Can Amp Multi work with speakers other than Sonos Architectural?

Yes. ProTune provides manual per-channel controls for low-impedance passive speakers. The automatic Optimize Sonos Speakers feature is specific to supported Sonos Architectural models.

Can each zone have a subwoofer?

Amp Multi supports one wireless Sonos Sub per zone. It also has one wired RCA subwoofer output that can be assigned to one selected zone in place of that zone's wireless Sub.

Is the 2U Rack Mount included?

No. The dedicated Amp Multi 2U Rack Mount is a separate accessory. Soundhous will specify it where the amplifier is being installed in a professional AV rack.

Why can't I add Amp Multi directly to my cart?

Amp Multi is a professional-installation product. Soundhous first validates the zone design, speaker loading, rack, network, power and commissioning requirements so the system can be quoted and installed correctly.

Planning a multi-zone Sonos system?

Soundhous will confirm the zones, speaker loads, rack strategy, network requirements and installation scope before issuing the project quote.
