Does Sonos Port power speakers?
No. Port is a streaming and source-bridge component, not a power amplifier. Connect it to an amplifier, receiver or powered audio system. If your passive speakers need amplification, use Sonos Amp or consider Amp Multi for a professionally installed multi-zone project.
What's the difference between Port and Amp?
Choose Port when you already have the amplification or powered system you want to keep. Choose Amp when passive speakers need Sonos streaming and amplification. Both can bring analogue sources into the Sonos system, but they solve different system-design problems.
Can I connect a turntable to Port?
Yes. Connect a line-level turntable output to Port's stereo RCA line-in. If the turntable outputs phono level only, add an appropriate phono preamp before Port.
Can I connect a DJ mixer or controller?
Yes, provided the mixer or controller supplies a suitable analogue line-level output. Port can bring that source into Sonos and share it with grouped rooms. Sonos grouped playback is intended for whole-home listening and entertaining, not zero-latency professional DJ booth monitoring.
Can Port work with my existing premium hi-fi or B&O system?
Often, yes. Where the existing system provides a compatible analogue or digital audio input, Port can add Sonos streaming without requiring you to replace the amplifier or system you value. Connection method and volume-control strategy depend on the equipment, so premium or integrated systems should be confirmed during system design.
Can a source connected to Port play in other Sonos rooms?
