How to set up the Sonos Speakers
Era 100
Before you start
- Place your Era 100 in your desired location and connect it to power.
- Download the Sonos app for iOS or Android. The app will guide you through the set up process.
- Era 100 must be set up on a WiFi network before it can be used as a Bluetooth speaker.
Set up a new Sonos system with Era 100
- Open the Sonos app for iOS or Android.
- Select Speaker or component, then create or sign in to your Sonos account.
- Select Add on the popup showing your Era 100.
- Follow the steps in the app to set up your Era 100 and add your content services.
Add Era 100 to your existing Sonos system
- Open the Sonos app for iOS or Android.
- Go to the Settings menu and select Add Speaker or Component.
- Follow the steps in the app to add Era 100 to your Sonos system.
Era 300
Before you start

Roam 2
Before you start
- Turn on your Sonos Roam 2 by pressing the Power button on the back or by plugging it in to power via USB cable. Roam 2 will show a blinking green light when it's ready to be set up.
- Download the Sonos app for iOS or Android. The app will guide you through the set up process.
Set up a new Sonos system with Roam 2

- Select Set up new system, then create or sign in to your Sonos account.
- Select Add on the popup showing your Roam 2.

Move 2
Before you start
- Plug the included charging base into power, then place your Move 2 on the charging base to turn it on. Move 2 will show a blinking green light on the front when it's ready to be set up.
- Download the Sonos app for iOS or Android. The app will guide you through the set up process.
- Move 2 must be set up on a WiFi network before it can be used as a Bluetooth speaker.

Ray
Before you start
- Download the Sonos app for iOS or Android. Your Ray needs to be set up using the Sonos app before it can play TV audio. Note that Sonos Ray is not compatible with the Sonos S1 Controller app.
- Place Ray in your desired location and connect it to power.
- Keep the included optical cable nearby. The Sonos app will guide you on connecting Ray to the optical audio port on your TV.
Set up a new Sonos system with Sonos Ray
- Open the Sonos app for iOS or Android.
- Select Speaker or component, then create or sign in to your Sonos account.
- Select Add on the popup showing your Ray.
- Follow the steps in the app to set up your Ray and add your content services.

Beam
Set up your Sonos Beam
This article will guide you through setting up your Sonos Beam (Gen 2). Note that Beam (Gen 2) is not compatible with the Sonos S1 Controller app. The following steps also apply to setting up Beam (Gen 1), which is compatible with both the latest Sonos app and the S1 Controller app. You can find more information on product features and specs on Beam's product page.
Before you start
- Download the Sonos app for iOS or Android. Your Beam needs to be set up using the Sonos app before it can play TV audio.
- Place Beam in your desired location and connect it to power.
- Keep the included HDMI cable and optical audio adapter ready nearby. The Sonos app will guide you which cables and ports to use when connecting your Beam to your TV.

Arc Ultra
Set up your Sonos Arc Ultra
This article will help you get started with setting up your Sonos Arc Ultra. We'll also make sure you're connected properly for Dolby Atmos, provide information on adding surrounds and a Sub, and show you how to add a voice assistant. Before you start
- Download the Sonos app for iOS or Android. Your Arc Ultra needs to be set up using the Sonos app before it can play TV audio.
- Place Arc Ultra in your desired location and connect it to power.
- Keep the included HDMI cable ready nearby. The Sonos app will guide you on which cables and ports to use when connecting your Arc Ultra to your TV.

- Select Speaker or component, then create or sign in to your Sonos account.

Sub 4
Before you start
- Place your Sub in your desired location and connect it to power. Make sure at least one side of the slot is free from obstruction. If you place it vertically against a wall, don’t block the front opening. If you place Sub horizontally on the floor, don’t put anything on top of it.
- If you are setting up a Sonos home theater speaker and Sub at the same time, set up the home theater speaker first. The app will guide you through adding your Sub during the setup process.
- If you're adding a Sub to a Sonos speaker that is already set up, follow the steps below.
Compatibility
Home theater compatibility
- Sub (Gen 1, 2, and 3) are compatible with all Sonos home theater speakers.
- Sub 4 is compatible with all Sonos home theater speakers except Playbar and Playbase.
Product compatibility
- Sub 4 is not compatible with Play:1, Play:3, Play:5 (Gen 2), Connect:Amp, SYMFONISK Bookshelf (Gen 1), or SYMFONISK Table lamp (Gen 1).
- All Sub products are not compatible with Move products, Roam products, ZP80, ZP90, Connect, or Connect:Amp (Gen 1).
App compatibility
- Sub 4 and Sub (Gen 3) are not compatible with the Sonos S1 Controller app.
Add a Sub
- Open the Sonos app for iOS or Android.
- Go to the Settings menu.
- Under My System, select the room you would like to add your Sub to.
- Select Connect Sub.
- Follow the prompts to add the Sub to your Sonos system.

Using two Subs with your home theater speaker
Some Sonos home theater speakers can connect with up to two Subs.
- Arc Ultra: Compatible with two Sub 4s, Sub (Gen 3)s, or one of each.
- Arc, Beam (Gen 1 and 2), Ray, and Amp: Compatible with all Sub models in certain configurations:
- Playbar and Playbase: Compatible with Sub (Gen 1, 2, and 3).
Follow the steps below to add a second Sub to your home theater speaker:
- Open the Sonos app for iOS or Android.
- Go to the Settings menu.
- Under My System, select the home theater room that already contains a Sub.
- Select Connect Second Sub.
- Follow the prompts to add the second Sub to your home theater system.
Change Sub audio settings
- Open the Sonos app for iOS or Android.
- Go to the Settings menu.
- Under My System, select the room that your Sub is in.
- Under Sound, select Sub Audio.
You can adjust the settings listed below. If you’ve added two Subs to a room, each setting will apply to both Subs.
Sub Mini
Before you start
- Place your Sub Mini in your desired location and connect it to power. Make sure at least one side of the slot is free from obstruction. If you place it vertically against a wall, don’t block the front opening.
- Sub Mini cannot be added to unamplified or portable Sonos products. See all Sonos products that support Sub Mini.
- If you are setting up a Sonos home theater speaker and Sub Mini at the same time, set up the home theater speaker first. The app will guide you through adding your Sub Mini during the setup process.
- If you're adding a Sub Mini to a Sonos speaker that is already set up, follow the steps below.
Add a Sub Mini
- Open the Sonos app for iOS or Android.
- Go to the Settings menu.
- Under My System, select the room you would like to add your Sub Mini to.
- Select Connect Sub.
- Follow the prompts to add the Sub Mini to your Sonos system.
