Tech Company of the Year • Best Control Panel • Best HVAC Thermostat
Using its built-in temperature sensor, the Rithum Switch can operate as a thermostat and offers a full range of climate control functions. We call this Rithum Stat*.Â
Rithum Stat also includes a Scheduling screen allowing users to set a seven day schedule with up to eight time points in each day.
Also included is audio control with Sonos smart speaker connectivity and smart lighting scenes with the Philips Hue integration. Full smart home control from one device!
*Requires a relay connected via a lighting integration
Smart lighting control
The Rithum Switch offers control of up to 8 Scenes with Philips Hue connectivity included as standard. Setup is easy, simply connect the switch via WiFi to the Hue Bridge and your Scenes will automatically display on your Rithum Switch.Â
Alternatively, please view our plugin integrations for connectivity with lighting systems such as Homey, Rako or Lutron.Â
Group Scenes
Rithum Switch has 8 main Scene buttons, but being able to collate sub-scenes in a group provides users with much wider control options. For example, a user could group 3 or 4 – or more – kitchen Scenes to one of the main 8 buttons.Â
Macro mode (default):Â Triggers all of the Scenes in the group and can be useful to turn all lighting and audio off / on with the press of one button
List mode:Â Once pressed, this will display a pop-up list showing all Scenes within the group, which can be controlled independently. This is useful for grouping Scenes within a zone, for example, all lighting in the kitchen
Step mode:Â Pressing the Group Scene button will cycle through the grouped Scenes and display them one after the next, activating each one as it is displayed
Levels Screen
From within Rithum Switch, users are able to control the lighting levels at Group Level, for example all lights in the Kitchen Group, or at individual device level. Simply use the toggles to switch groups or devices on or off, then use the sliders to adjust the levels as required.
Flexible smart switch accessories
Combining the Rithum Switch with the Table Stand allows the switch to be placed anywhere in a room, on a bedside table, a kitchen work top, or besides the sofa.
If replacing a traditional light switch, using the UK double adapter allows the Rithum Switch to be mounted in a double back box with ease.

Can the Rithum Switch Control Non-Smart Bulbs?
Currently, Rithum’s smart switch can only control your lights via a Hue Bridge, but any types of Zigbee light that work with the Philips Hue Bridge, be they smart bulbs or otherwise, can be controlled.
How Long Does It Take to Power Up the Switch?
The Rithum Switch boots up automatically without any actions required when power is applied and will then load into the Scenes screen. Rithum Switch is designed to be always on but with the screen in standby so it is always ready to respond to your input without disturbing you until you’re ready.
What If the Smart Switch Doesn’t Fit in the Back Box?
Because of the way some types of UK back box are made, it can be difficult to insert the Rithum Switch into the box – however, this doesn’t mean you can’t install Rithum’s product. Trimming any unnecessary protrusions will help you to install the switch without compromising its quality.
Which Features Do You Get with the SmartSwitch Lite?
If you’re looking for a smart home automation system, then you’ll be glad to know that the Rithum Switch will provide you with complete control over your lighting and audio systems.
It offers a range of features, including light scenes, which let you quickly choose a predetermined light setting simply by waking and tapping the screen.
You can also easily dim your lights, which is an eco-friendlier option for your home.
Do You Need an Internet Connection?
In order to use Rithum’s smart switch, you need Wi-Fi to control your lights and sound, so whilst you don’t need an internet connection itself, you still need Wi-Fi.
Will the Rithum Switch Also Turn the Lights On and Off?
Yes. Rithum’s product is, first and foremost, a light switch, so you can easily toggle the lights on and off at will. The Standby Gestures mean you can toggle the lights without having to wake up the smart home control panel. As long as your lights can be controlled from a Philips Hue Bridge (or other compatible integration), then this feature will work for you.
Is the Rithum Switch Easy to Use?
Because Rithum understand that convenience is crucial for everyone, we ensure that Rithum’s smart light switch is easy to use and customise. This allows everyone, even those who have never had a smart switch before, to easily start using it – and make the most of all the features on offer!
What does Rithum Home integrate with?
Currently Rithum Home integrates with Philips Hue and Sonos natively out of the box, plus our premium plugins allow you to add more integrations as required. See Works With. It is also possible to integrate with Home Assistant using Emulated Hue as you can read about in this blog post.
How do I power the Rithum Switch?
Rithum just needs power to power itself, it doesn’t need to come from the same circuit as any other devices it is controlling. It does need a neutral wire though which you can get with a small tweak as we explain in this blog on neutral wires. There is also the option to power via 12-30V DC on the same device. This means you could replace a legacy lighting keypad or just power locally from a wall charger.
