Era 100 Pro

Both speakers share the same acoustic architecture and tuning targets. Any differences are virtually indistinguishable, except under the most extreme volume settings and content types. PoE+ provides the best audio performance from Era 100 Pro.

PoE+ is backward compatible, meaning you can run Era 100 Pro from a standard PoE switch. For optimal performance, a PoE+ switch or injector is recommended for installation. Sonos Era 100 Pro is optimized for PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at), compatible with PoE (IEEE 802.3af), and has been tested to standards defined by the Ethernet Alliance. Era 100 Pro does not have an IP rating. It is designed for indoor use, in temperatures of 0-40°C and 0-90% humidity.

Each Era 100 Pro will consume a maximum of 30 W when connected to a PoE+ port, or up to 15.4 W on a PoE port.

PoE speakers present a dynamic load to the PoE power sourcing equipment, so the actual power consumed will vary and will depend on the playback volume and dynamic content of the audio.

When planning a PoE system, it's important to determine the maximum power consumption of all PoE devices so that you can ensure the power sourcing equipment can always provide sufficient power to every device.

To determine the required power for your system, simply sum together the maximum power consumption of all PoE devices and then add some buffer (we recommend approximately 20%). Then ensure that the Total Power Budget of your power sourcing equipment meets or exceeds the required power for your project.

Sonos recommends that Era 100 Pro is always connected to a PoE+ port to ensure that it delivers maximum performance, so when selecting a power over ethernet network switch or injector, also make sure that you have a sufficient number of PoE+ ports for each Era 100 Pro.

Yes. If the Era 100 Pros are using a wired network connection, then the home theater primary (soundbar or Sonos Amp) must also be wired to Ethernet. If the Era 100 Pros are using their backup wireless network, then the home theater primary can be wired or wireless.

Yes. You can use Era 100 with the Surface Mount by removing the hook. Only portrait orientation is recommended for Era 100.

The software does not currently support Trueplay tuning for zones. Era 100 Pro supports Trueplay when used as a standalone speaker, when configured as a stereo pair, when paired with a subwoofer, and when used as rear speakers in a Sonos home theater system.
